George Wilson (July 7, 1816 – February 5, 1902) was Mayor of Pittsburgh from 1860 to 1862. ==Life== Wilson was born in Baltimore. He worked in a Tobacco plant and eventually went into business for himself. Wilson served as a City Councilman and as the Director of the Public School System. In addition, he was also an attorney. As Mayor, Wilson introduced President-elect Abraham Lincoln from the balcony of the Monongahela House on a rain-soaked day in February 1861. He died on February 5, 1902, of pneumonia; and was buried at the Homewood Cemetery.
